Hamley Bridge Senior Citizen Home AGM

Hamley Bridge Senior Citizen Homes

Our Senior Citizens Homes are located on 2x sites – Albert Street and Dahlmyra Avenue -Norman Street and comprise 18 independent living one and two bedroom units in total.

The land and homes were built and funded by the enormous generosity of many local farmers over 40 years ago and managed by a team of volunteers under the guidance of the president then and up to approx 4 years ago, our well respected Syd Nairn, whom these homes are honoured to be named after, so they are community owned homes not Government owned.

This was also supported by the wonderful local community with fundraising events to see this eventuate for our local ageing community.

The history of these homes came about for local farmers seeking to retire from ‘farm life’ and move into town in a smaller home. Where they could still be involved in the community they grew up in and raised their families with independent living, neighbours close by to chat with and gardens to potter in.

They are available for singles and couples over the age of 60 years of age to enjoy the tranquil country life in a safe community setting.

The current committee are dedicated local volunteers under the care of president Brian Koch and Helen Sczesny as secretary. Who tirelessly maintain these homes so that all residents feel safe and comfortable in their home. The committee has just installed 6x secured garages for our residents on Dahymyra Ave, which is a great asset to our homes. Well done committee!

If you are seeking on the availability of these please contact Helen Sczesny on 0427 972 035

Please note in your diary our upcoming AGM and welcome any new member to join us.
